Contacting Conductivity
Conductivity can be used to measure the quality of water that has undergone a purification process. These processes remove dissolved minerals in the water, such as Sodium, Calcium, Phosphates etc. A conductivity measurement is able to detect ppb (parts per billion) of these salts and display the reading in either Total Dissolved Solids (ppm), conductivity (µS/cm) or Resistivity (MΩ/cm) and can indicate the total impurities present.
These products are used when sensor spoiling would not occur.
Dissolved Oxygen
Dissolved Oxygen measurement can be applied in a variety of industries and applications where accurate measurement and control is required to improve and optimise processes. Dissolved Oxygen is a term used for the measurement of the amount of oxygen dissolved in a unit volume of water. In sewage treatment, where bacteria is used to decompose the solids, it is important to accurately control the Dissolved Oxygen level as when the level is too low, the bacteria die and decomposition stops.
However in the above mentioned applications, when the Dissolved Oxygen level is too high, energy is wasted due to unnecessary aeration of the water but good accurate control of the aeration process can reduce running costs.
Electrodeless Conductivity
Electrodeless Conductivity and Inductive Conductive sensors are ideal where sensor fouling occurs in harsh process applications. These sensors operate with virtually zero maintenance and provide accurate and reliable measurements over extended periods of time.
In dairy, brewery and food industries the cleaning solutions used are more conductive than the water used for flushing and final rinsing. Here conductivity can be used for chemical concentration measurement or interface detection between chemicals and water, minimising chemical waste and water usage and improving the efficiency of a process
operation.
Level Measurement
LTH supply Ultrasonic, capacitance, vibration, hydrostatic, conductive, Guided Wave and Radar level instrumentation and sensors for industrial process applications.
The level transmitters can control the level in tanks, vessels, channels and silos to prevent over-filling or spillage of products. They are suitable for liquids and aggressive chemicals, sludge and slurries and granular solids and powders. The transmitters provide an industry standard 4-20mA output as a level or distance signal.
pH and Redox
pH is one of the most common analytical measurements used in process control as many chemical reactions rely on the pH of a process being maintained at the correct value. By using accurate pH measurement it is possible to automate and improve the efficiency of a process, minimising waste and reducing costs.
pH instrumentation and sensors used to monitor the effluent from a factory can identify if it requires treatment before it is discharged within the required consent levels. This minimises the effects of the waste on the environment, ensuring operators comply with local legislation and laws.
Suspended Solids & Turbidity
LTH Electronics Suspended Solids instruments combined with a series of Quadbeam™ sensors provide accurate and reliable measurement of suspended solids and turbidity.
A choice of dip sensors are available for continuous online monitoring of suspended solids in industrial and municipal waste water treatment plants, mining and refining operations. Hygienic style sensors for installation directly into dairy, food and beverage product lines are also available.
